Moderate continental climate
Bulgaria has a moderate continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. South of the Balkans, the climate is milder with Mediterranean characteristics.
The average summer day temperature inland is about 24°C. July and August are the warmest months of the year with an average temperature up to 30°C.
Rainfall is about 600 mm annually, increasing to 1000 mm annually in the mountains often in the form of snow (Wikipedia).
